Review of D.L. Hodges "Fissures"

"Fissures" by author D.L.Hodges is the story of Andrew Parsons, who comes from a dysfunctional family and searches for acceptance elsewhere which leads him into the world of crime. After a spell in prison he must try to change his life for the better - easier said than done. A tale of of redemption with some interesting twists and turns. I understand the author's idea of wanting to relate the events  through the prism of one person, and on a certain level it works but at times the dialogue can be hard to digest as it jumps back and forth through time. Overall this was a good read and the author can paint a detailed picture that can even make the reader feel very vulnerable. This novel reiterates the idea that life can be tough – but only if you let it.
