"The Reading Lessons" by Carole Lanham follows the lives Hadley and Lucinda who come together through books and love. From the very first sentence I knew I had stumbled across one of those rare-finds in fiction: Beautifully written, honest and poignant. Set in 1920's America and combining historical fiction with romance, this is a wonderful love story that is full of emotions. The bittersweet story of a privileged girl and her family's servant. The author's writing kept me hooked, as she wove an intricate narrative with impressive detail. I will certainly be recommending this book to others!
