This is a new author for me and the gamble is well worth the taking. D.S. Allen, author of "Blood For Blood" knows how to spin a story in the classic tradition. I was transported into medieval England in a tale of revenge, witchcraft and murder. I found myself pulled into the saga that I had not been expecting. The history is well-researched and well-described. The characters are fascinating. I really enjoyed Daniel Davenport and his sister Johanna. I really enjoyed reading this book and will greatly look forward to any sequels.
