A true fantasy/mermaid story that doesn't disappoint. Three mermaids and a handyman named Joe make of a wonderful tale. I was impressed with the beautiful fantasy world that the author created, but like an iceberg, there was much more to this book than just the enchanting surface. I was swept away by the author's lush descriptions. A part of me wanted to live beneath the sea! The storytelling is excellent. I can not count the number of times I smiled as I read this. The banter always brought a smile to my face and I could not help but want to join in on the fun. I do not want to ruin too much of the story, but I really wanted to see what would happen with Vanessa & Joe. Initially sceptical of the title and its aquatic setting, I quickly realised "Ocean's Gift" reminded me of other great fantasy novels! All in all, a fun read.
