"Colony Earth" by Regina M. Joseph is the first part of the "Alterran Legacy Series". This book grabbed me and just wouldn't let. Two human civilizations facing extinction try to come together to survive. The plot is nice and symmetrical with political themes, ancient mythology, pros and cons of advanced technology and the journey of the main character Lil, as he comes to terms with his new role on Earth. It moved along at a good pace and the descriptions of this alternate universe are excellent and understandable. I loved the characters and the richly detailed ancient Earth This book was very well thought out and came across smoothly giving all the characters a chance to shine. The Author weaves her story with a vivid imagination and beautiful writing. I am positive that the following books will be as interesting and unique as this one.
