"Making Arrangements" by Brent Eliot Parker is a romantic tale of self discovery. After the death of his father, Colin Madsen returns to the family business of a funeral home. There he reunites with an old friend, Ava. This novel took me by surprise. So full of human emotion and vivid writing. Interesting insights into how people who work in funeral homes deal with a grieving family. The story develops with character, and character development is propelled by the story. It is finely balanced, and getting to the last page was a joy. The book was warm, engaging and the author provides the reader with great imagery. In my opinion it's a must read. Book clubs will have much to discuss with this one!
