"The Mermaid Stair" by Maggie Secara is a book that was actually a lot better than I thought it would be. I've read YA titles with magical/mythical themes and have enjoyed them and this is no different. This story has something for everyone - Adventure, history, faeries and magic. The main characters are funny and engaging. I love the way the author writes what the main characters are thinking, and how they are going through their learning process. This I would recommend to fans of fantasy.
