"Haven of Evil" by Melvin Rivers is a horror/thriller and for a first-time author, it was very good. A few typos and a few spelling errors, but they didn't really detract from the story. The author was great at creating an atmosphere that actually seeps off the pages. A dark and twisted tale about a family trying to start over. But then things go from bad to worse rather quickly. At just over 190 pages, It was short - which was good for this particular story because I'm not sure it could have maintained its momentum over much longer. Overall, I would recommend this book anyone that is a fan of horror.
