"I, Kidney" by Chris Six

"I, Kidney" by Chris Six is a powerful, dramatic and gripping read. The story grabbed me from the very first sentence and never let go. A tale that was vulnerable, honest and really touched me. Set in the 1950s/60s it tells the story of Joe as he's trying to deal with a terminal disease. You really get a feel for the family dynamics and their difficulties were heart wrenching.  This is a story that can become anyone's story. You really do get a new perspective when viewing terminal ill patients. I recommend this "memoir" to anyone dealing with chronic  illness  affecting family members.
