'From Afar'

'From Afar' by Frank Scozzari is a memoir of a man who travels in search of a "happily ever after". While the allure of a foreign land is a subject often written about, I really enjoyed the setting in Russia. While I found it interesting and informative to discover Russia through the eyes of the writer, I was totally captured by the many sides of this book: the story about a foreigner adapting to a different culture and a international love story. He has his doubts, to be sure, which make for an authentic, compelling read. There were times, especially when he discusses his many relationships, I felt as if I were there, listening to him recount these stories. Those wishing to find a moving and engaging read, should pick this up.
