Although the third novel in "The Cousin Cycle" this is a stand alone book, so you don't have to have read the previous two books. The story of Brenda Walker as she searches for her real family and her lost past. The author describes family interaction and dynamics beautifully. The writing is excellent and the story moves at a pace that gives you time to enjoy each situation without going too slow. You will become increasingly enamoured with Brenda and you will also feel for the people around her. If you are searching for an enlightening tale to scratch an intellectual itch, "How Not to Cry in Public"" will not disappoint. I literally could not put it down. Life lessons will be learnt as your heart is being tugged in different directions. Great read!
